Comparison

Upcertain and Atlassian Statuspage compared

Atlassian Statuspage is widely used for status communication. Its plans are built around subscribers, components and team members; Upcertain's status pages are built from its own uptime monitors.

The short version

  • Pick Statuspage if you need large subscriber lists, audience-specific pages per customer group, component subscriptions, deep customisation with CSS and JavaScript, or Atlassian's ecosystem.
  • Pick Upcertain if you want the status page and the monitoring behind it in one place, with the page updating from real checks and no per-subscriber tiers.

Where Statuspage does more

Statuspage offers audience-specific pages for different customer groups, component subscriptions, metrics on the page, SMS and webhook notifications to subscribers on higher plans, custom CSS, HTML and JavaScript, and team-member SSO through Atlassian Guard.

Where Upcertain is different

  • The page updates itself from Upcertain's monitors, so it is current during the outage, while you are busy fixing it.
  • Outages explained: incidents that start together are grouped with each service's downtime, and brief outages fold into one line a day.
  • Password-protected and private pages on the same plan as public ones.
  • One tool for monitoring, alerts and the page, with an MCP server and REST API.

Moving from Statuspage

  1. Create monitors for each component you show on Statuspage.
  2. Build the Upcertain status page with sections matching your component groups.
  3. Point your status subdomain's CNAME at pages.upcertain.com (custom domains).
  4. Tell subscribers about the move in a final Statuspage update and invite them to subscribe on the new page.

Questions

Can I import my Statuspage subscribers?
Not automatically. Subscribers confirm their own address on the new page, which also keeps the list clean.
Is there a free plan?
Upcertain is in early access: billing is not enabled, accounts start on the Basic plan and plans are assigned from the account.
