What the table leaves out

Multi-region checks and confirmation over time solve different problems. Several regions tell you whether a failure is local to one network; re-checks over time tell you whether a failure lasts long enough to matter. Upcertain does the second. Which matters more depends on where your users are.

Where OpenStatus does more

It checks from several regions, which separates regional network trouble from real outages, and has a free plan covering one monitor and one status page.

Where Upcertain is different

  • More check types: keyword, ping, port, SSL and heartbeat next to HTTP.
  • 30-second checks and unlimited status pages on Team.
  • Status pages with grouped incidents, per-service downtime and folded brief outages.
  • MCP and REST for agents and scripts.

Questions to ask before you switch

  • Do you need checks from several regions? Upcertain checks from one.
  • Who needs a login, and who only needs alerts? Notify-only contacts cover the second group.
  • How long do your deploys or jobs normally take? That decides confirmation checks and heartbeat grace.

Moving from OpenStatus

  1. List what you monitor in OpenStatus: URLs, hosts or jobs, with their intervals.
  2. Import URLs and hosts with a CSV file, up to 200 rows at a time (CSV import); add heartbeat monitors one by one.
  3. Add alert channels and send a test to each.
  4. Point your status page subdomain at pages.upcertain.com if you had one (custom domains).
  5. Run both side by side for a week before switching the old checks off.

Questions

Can I put the status page on my own domain?
Yes, on Team and Business, with the HTTPS certificate issued automatically. See custom domains.
Are there per-page add-on fees?
No. Team and Business include unlimited status pages, password protection and custom domains.
Is there a free plan?
Upcertain is in early access: billing is not enabled, accounts start on the Basic plan and plans are assigned from the account.
