Where Uptime.com does more

More check types, checks from many locations including your own private ones, transactions and real user monitoring, SMS alerts and more integrations. For an operations team that needs breadth, it covers more ground.

Where Upcertain is different

  • 30-second checks on Team and Business.
  • Confirmation over time you tune per monitor, rather than more locations.
  • Status pages that explain outages with per-service downtime and folded brief outages.
  • MCP for agents, and plans without a price calculator.

Questions to ask before you switch

  • Which of your checks need more than HTTP, keyword, ping, port, SSL or heartbeat?
  • Who needs a login, and who only needs alerts? Notify-only contacts cover the second group.
  • How long do your deploys or jobs normally take? That decides confirmation checks and heartbeat grace.

Moving from Uptime.com

  1. List what you monitor in Uptime.com: URLs, hosts or jobs, with their intervals.
  2. Import URLs and hosts with a CSV file, up to 200 rows at a time (CSV import); add heartbeat monitors one by one.
  3. Add alert channels and send a test to each.
  4. Point your status page subdomain at pages.upcertain.com if you had one (custom domains).
  5. Run both side by side for a week before switching the old checks off.

Questions

Why would checks from one region be enough?
Many outages are on the service itself: a crash, a full disk, a bad deploy. One region sees those as well as many do. Regional network problems are the case it can miss.
Does Upcertain support private locations?
No. For services on a private network, run a small job inside the network that checks them and calls a heartbeat URL.
Is there a free plan?
Upcertain is in early access: billing is not enabled, accounts start on the Basic plan and plans are assigned from the account.
